Student Ambassadors

The purpose of Collin College Student Ambassadors is to embrace the diverse backgrounds of the college's student body, enhance the student’s college experience through campus activities and community events, such as new student orientation, and engage students in Collin College's recruitment efforts. We want students who will promote the school, have a positive attitude and possess an outgoing and well-rounded personality.

 

Campus and Community events that the Student Ambassadors participate in include:

* New Student Orientation
* Plano Balloon Festival
* LEAD Student Leadership Camp
* Counselor's Workshop
* Campus programs
* Collin College recruitment events for high school students
Collin College Student Ambassadors have also served as members of National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) Officers, Student Government Association Officers, members of Phi Theta Kappa, student organization officers, and most importantly, graduates of Collin College.


GPA and Hour Requirement
*Ambassadors must maintain a 2.5 GPA per semester and be enrolled in at least 6 hours per semester. 
*Ambassadors must work a minimum of 20 hours and give at least 3 campus tours a semester.
*Ambassadors must attend and actively participate in all training sessions and Ambassador meetings.
Benefits
Serving as a Collin College Student Ambassador will provide participants with experience and preparation in areas such as communication, leadership, problem solving, diversity awareness, public speaking, networking, event planning and management, marketing and team building. These are all traits that will make the participants more marketable and desirable to employers in today's workforce.

In addition, participation will broaden the students understanding of Collin College and lead them to become more invested in the college and its success as they partake in recruitment and enrollment process.
In return for their service, Student Ambassadors will receive:
* Compensated $12.00 per hour on a monthly basis
* Official uniform and other promotional materials
* Great opportunity for personal and professional growth
* A prestigious honor as students are selected from among the best at Collin College.
